Field notes
Three short notes from the workbench and the water.
Before choosing a lure, spend a few minutes watching the surface and the current. Look for moving water, shaded edges, or bait flicking near the bank. A cast into the right seam matters more than having one more tray in the bag. Our team can talk through what we would try, but no one can promise a fish.
A well-matched setup casts more easily and tangles less. Bring the rod with you if you can, or tell us its length and weight range. We will help you choose a line that loads the rod properly and a reel that balances in your hand. Small changes in matching often do more than changing brand.
A useful catch diary entry takes about 3 minutes to write. Note the date, place, species, weight, bait and one line about the conditions. The detail that matters later is often the simplest: water height, wind direction, or the hour you fished. Short notes are easier to read before your next trip.
A quiet tackle world
The mood of our corner of the world: cool mornings, river mist, and a bench with several well-used reels waiting for a clean.

Notes from customers
A few local voices from around the district.
The catalogue saved me a long drive. I checked what was on the shelf from home and phoned before I left.
Weekend angler, Goulburn Valley
I asked for a beginner set and the team kept it simple. The rod, reel and line were matched to still water, not just handed to me.
New angler, Albury
My reel came back smoother after a service. The note said exactly what had been cleaned and what to watch.
Boat angler, Gippsland
The lure picker gave me one suggestion instead of thirty. I took it out all season and it stayed in the tray.
River regular, Murray Bridge
I use the catch diary every trip. My notes are on my phone, and I can delete old ones when the page gets full.
Kayak angler, Toowoomba
About the shop
Red Rock Tackle started in 2019 as a small fishing tackle Australia shop on the edge of the lake and river country. We sell rods, reels, lines and lures, and we give honest local advice without pushing gear you do not need. The workshop bench is busy with reel servicing, and the shelf plan is simple.
The free apps on this site came out of that daily work. The catalogue reflects what we keep in stock, the picker turns common questions into a simple suggestion, and the catch diary helps you bring better notes to your next trip. Eighteen people now handle the bench, the shelves and the phone.
Hours
Our usual hours are calm and early because the lake road is calmest then.

Questions we hear
The lure catalogue is a searchable list of rods, reels, lines and lures in the shop. You can filter by type, water, species or price and save favourites on your device.
You answer a few short questions: water type, target fish, season and budget. Then the app shows one suggestion from a fixed list, with a rod, a line and a lure. The picker usually takes about 3 minutes.
The apps are free helper tools. Ordering and paying happen in the shop or by phone in the usual way.
No. The catch diary stores entries only on your device. There is no account, and you can delete an entry whenever you like.
After you install an app to your home screen, it opens offline. Before that, you can use the pages through your browser as usual.
We keep a practical range of river fishing gear for local streams and lakes. Call or email and we can check the stock before you travel.
Good things to know
These are the small design details that make the apps useful day to day.
We pick rods, reels, lines and lures for the water we know around the rivers and lakes.
The catalogue lists the gear we keep, with a search box and filters that work from a phone.
A few answer buttons narrow down one fixed suggestion for rod, line and lure.
Write where, when, what and on what bait. Delete an entry when you want; nothing sits in an account.
Install an app to your home screen and it opens without internet back at the boat ramp.
We keep the focus on practical river fishing gear and honest advice for the water close to you.
